We take great consideration and care in our placement process. Priority is given to returning families and Boxford residents but we also keep in mind the need to have gender balance within the age range of a class. We currently have limited availability in our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes for the 2020/21 school year.
The Village School welcomes parents of prospective children to visit our facility. Please call in advance to schedule a tour of our school.

Student Application Guidelines
How old does my child have to be in September?
Children must be 2.9 years old at the time of entrance.
As a first time applicant to Village School, how is placement of my child made?
We start taking applications beginning December 1st and continue until we are full. Returning students and siblings are placed first. Remaining spaces are filled with new students based on the need to balance boy/girl ratios and the age range within the class. You will receive a placement letter over the December holidays.
Is my application fee refundable?
The $50 application fee must accompany the application form and is non-refundable.
What options do I have if my child is placed but not in my first preference?
Your child's name will be placed on the "preference wait list". Placement will occur as slots become available.
How do I secure a slot for my child?
A non-refundable deposit of $200 will be due within two weeks of receiving the placement letter. The $200 is deducted from next year's tuition.
Who is responsible for the placement decision?
The Board has designated that the Director has the final decision on placement.
When will we know the names of my child's teachers?
In August, your child will receive a special letter of introduction from the assigned classroom teachers. It includes a time and date to come and visit before school starts in September.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
No, we have changing facilities as required by our state-licensing agency. All preschools are required to accommodate the child's physical as well as their emotional needs as they master the toileting process.
Would you like to talk to a current parent in our school?
Please contact our Directors, Christy Christianson or Andrea Green, at 978-352-7294 and they will be happy to provide you with a list of parents who can share their experiences with you.
